Relationship Between Surface Dew Point Temperature and Satellite Based Total Water Vapor Content over North Indian Ocean

نویسندگان

چکیده

The dew point temperature is related to the total water vapor content available in atmosphere column. In this study, Water Vapor Content (WVC) from Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM) Microwave Imager (TMI) and Relative humidity Research Moored Array for African-Asian-Australian Monsoon Analysis (RAMA) buoy data has been utilized make a relationship between satellite measured WVC Dew temperature. This study focuses on development of an algorithm estimate surface satellite-based WVC. Regression coefficients are established using 9-years (2004-2012) Temperature computed 1594 points observed weekly, mean monthly collocated considered examine

Estimation of the Total Atmospheric Water Vapor Content and Land Surface Temperature Based on AATSR Thermal Data

The total atmospheric water vapor content (TAWV) and land surfacetemperature (LST) play important roles in meteorology, hydrology, ecology and some otherdisciplines. In this paper, the ENVISAT/AATSR (The Advanced Along-Track ScanningRadiometer) thermal data are used to estimate the TAWV and LST over the Loess Plateauin China by using a practical split window algorithm. The distribution of the T...

Relationship Among Sea Surface Temperature, ENSO and Indian Ocean Dipole in the Indian Ocean: A Clue to Recognizing Convective Systems

The Northern Indian Ocean is unique in the global ocean because of seasonal reversal of winds as well as surface ocean currents. In the southern part of the Indian Ocean, a significant ocean-atmospheric phenomenon developed just like an El Nino phenomenon noticed in the Pacific Ocean. This phenomenon is known as the Indian Ocean Dipole. In this study we investigate the relationship between IOD ...

Fronts in the Southern Indian Ocean as inferred from satellite sea surface temperature data

Sea surface temperature (SST) derived from the weekly measurements made by the Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometers (AVHRR) of NOAA satellites was used to investigate the structure and space-time variability of large-scale fronts in the Southern Indian Ocean (30–60jS and 20–150jE) during the period of 1997–1999. Monthly SST gradient maps provided an overall view of five basic fronts: the N...

Assessment of Tmi Retrieved Sub Skin Temperature over the North Indian Ocean

Introduction: SST over the north Indian Ocean (NIO) behaves bimodal distribution over the year. SST over the north Indian Ocean varies very close to the threshold value of for the convection, which behaves as a regulator for the convective activity. Development of microwave remote sensing provides unprecedented sub skin temperature of ocean (Donlon et al., 2002, Parekh and Sarkar 2009) under th...
